What to do
In addition to activities close at hand such as going to the beach, shopping and visiting the town of Salou, the hotel is also strategically situated for excursions of different types, all of which are interesting and likely to live long in the memory.
The Costa Daurada is a 216 kilometers long coastline located on the coast of Catalonia, Spain, in the comarques of Baix Penedès, Tarragonès, Baix Camp and Baix Ebre. It is an important tourism area.
The origin of the Daurada (Golden) epithet is the colour of the extensive beaches which are the main attraction for tourists. The sand itself is a product of the erosion of the hinterland due to deforestation in the Middle Ages and later. Infrequent flash floods continue to provide fluvial material, some of which continues to nourish the beaches aided by the northeast to southwest current which flows along the coast. There is minimal tide in this part of the Mediterranean Sea, so beaches are generally stable. Considerable effort is made to maintain the cleanliness of these beaches, and to provide policing and infrastructure for the users. Many European "Blue Flags" are awarded annually to the Costa Daurada beaches.
Most of the Costa Daurada towns have their own beaches which are enjoyed by locals all year round, and by visitors in the season from May to October. The town of Coma-ruga has one of the most extensive and under utilized beaches. The town of Salou claims to be the capital of the Costa Daurada, having an infrastructure well developed to support tourism. Its population varies from 27,000 in Winter to in excess of 250,000 in Summer.

The tourist and residential town of Salou has become the capital of leisure and services in the Costa Daurada, thanks to its diversity and numerous first-rate facilities.
Firstly, it is a top destination for holidays on account of the variety of basic tourist facilities compared to other towns in Tarragona. Besides, it has been recognised as a power engine through which the entertainment and culture fields are developed. Secondly, it hosts the most exceptional attraction per excellence: Universal Mediterranea Complex, which turns Salou and its surroundings into the most outstanding tourist resort of Catalonia and the Mediterranean.
Salou is known as the “capital of Costa Daurada” and it has become a top destination for many families in Catalonia due to several reasons such as: its mild temperatures the whole year long; its clean, shallow, safe and fully equipped beaches; its small coves of great interest both in terms of nature and landscape; its town planning management where green areas, design and landscape architecture come first; its city highlights of great historical, monumental and architectural interest; its several leisure and entertainment options combining dynamic sectors (commercial and catering); and finally, its first-rate facilities.

Located on Spain’s pristine Costa Daurada – and just a short hop from Barcelona – Tarragona has miles of blissfully bare beaches, ancient Roman ruins, affordable accommodations and a vibrant cultural scene.
To top it off, Tarragona has stayed away from the mass tourism that frequents most of Spain, making it one of the best-kept secrets in the country. Until now.
Tarragona is a great place to visit all year-round. In spring and fall, the weather is warm and the ocean temperatures are bearable. During the summer it can get stiflingly hot with high humidity but offshore breezes can provide a refreshing lift. In the winter months the town slows down but the lack of tourists and mild temperatures make it a unique and pleasant experience.

Between the Campo de Tarragona and the territories surrounding the river Ebro, hidden behind the Prelitoral Mountain Range, we can find one of the most ancient regions in Catalonia: the Priorat, a land of strong character where both villages and landscape blend to captivate the eye of the beholder.
From time immemorial, the mention of Priorat equates with wine. The two Designations of Origin ruling this region explain to us the particularities of the territory. After a long century of silence, its secluded villages have nowadays become a pilgrimage site for wine-lovers. We should not forget, anyway, its oil, which is a Protected Designation of Origin Siurana. It is one of the most treasured produces of the land, and shares its place at the table with the best wines. Oil and wine have become distinct features in Priorat’s cuisine.
The routes offered to visitors help understanding the most surprising aspects of an enchanted region.
